Jørgen Rungby is Professor of Clinical Pharmacology, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Aarhus. He is Chief Physician at the Department of Endocrinology, Gentofte University Hospital. He is past chairman of the Danish Endocrine Society and was on the organizing committee of the ECE
2013. Jørgen Rungby graduated as MD and in 1990 he completed his doctorate (DMSc, PhD). Jørgen Rungby is engaged in examining how drugs work, especially for the treatment of diabetes. The methods include both the most basic studies of the genes of the cells affected by the drugs, physiological studies of medicinal influence on cell and organ function, and studies of the health effects of medical treatment at the population level. More recently, his research focuses on hormonal regulation of central nervous system functions.
